Lately, I’ve noticed a difference in my hair. I’ve always had super curly, frizzy hair that’s perpetually dry (probably because I’m always colouring it) but the one advantage has always been when I let it air-dry with the right product in it, it doesn’t look half-bad.
Since I highlighted it in June and added more blonde a few weeks ago though, I’ve noticed it isn’t air drying quite the same. It’s drying straighter than it used to, and while I have no idea what’s prompted the change, I’m finding myself having to change up my hair regime to keep it looking polished and under control.
The result has been buying a hair wand and blow-drying and styling my hair on a daily basis to add the curl I’m used to manually. It’s been a lot of trial-and-error over the last few weeks – different products have provided different levels of hold and finish with the waves in my hair and some have underperformed, while others have (dare I say it) done a little too well at holding the style. You see, I’m fine with the curls being on the tighter side first thing, but I prefer they relax a little throughout the day and leave a sort of tousled wavy look with the right amount of volume. Since my hair is so fine, it’s been a challenge finding a product that will get me the long-lasting results I’m looking for.
