Following up on last week’s post on MAKE UP FOR EVER‘s new sculpting duo, they recently released a new mascara that’s worth a try – the Smoky Stretch Lengthening & Defining Mascara. The formula has a “Flex Control Complex,” made to ensure lashes are elongated and defined at every angle.

MAKE UP FOR EVER has been killing it with their new product launches as of late, and the new Pro Scupting Duo is one of the most recent I’ve tried that yet again does not disappoint.
A powder contouring compact, it comes with a highlighting and sculpting shade designed to suit either fair to medium skin (1 Pink Beige) or medium to dark skin (2 Golden). Given my ghostly natural skin tone, I had the opportunity to try out 1 Pink Beige and have been using for a few weeks now.
The best way to stay on track when it comes to eating healthy is to be prepared. Though they say variety is the spice of life, I find it’s easiest to have go-to healthy meals you can easily prep in advance and/or in bulk so there’s always something you can grab and go or quickly pull together. I spend most Sundays working on my lunches for the week and often plan out my meals in calendar-form and shop accordingly – this minimizes being stuck in situations where options are limited and falling off the wagon becomes too easy.
Here are some of my faves!
It goes without saying beauty involves finding your daily routine – washing your face, moisturizing, applying makeup, removing it, etc. Once you have that nailed down though, you’ll likely start to develop some other routines that take place on a regular but less frequent basis. I’m talking weekly, monthly and even annual processes.
Over the years I’ve developed some important rituals to stay on top of the products I’m using, the cleanliness of my tools and products and to keep things clutter-free. I thought I’d share my main routines and what’s involved – I’d love to hear if you share the same ones or if you have others!

Every once in a while, a chance comes up to test drive the latest offerings from a brand that are specific to men. It’s always fun to volunteer my better half Brad when these chances come up, so when L’Occitane connected with BlushPretty to share their new men’s line I was quick to sign him up!
At the start of March, Brad and I took off to NYC for a weekend as a little getaway. It all started when just before Christmas I saw Harry Connick Jr. added a final date on his U.S. tour in New York, and knowing how much Brad loves him I knew tickets would make a great gift. If he wasn’t making the hike to Toronto, New York was the next best thing.
It became a weekend trip with a musical (If/Then with Idina Menzel and Anthony Rapp <3), delicious food, a trip to the 9/11 Museum and finally, the big show with Harry. It was a short but oh so sweet weekend (hello, Levain) and I thought I’d share some pics!
I’ve had a challenging relationship with primers over the years. I’ve tried many, but never have I found one I ever felt really worked. I could never truly feel if they were working their magic in between my skincare and makeup, but then MAKE UP FOR EVER showed up with a new line addressing every skincare need under the sun and I’m totally convinced primer can work when it’s done right.
The new Step 1 Skin Equalizer from MUFE come in 10 varieties to fix common skin problems and create the perfect base for your makeup. Split in to two categories, texture and tone, the range can be mixed and matched to colour correct and tweak the surface so makeup plays along for the day.
With my endless hunt for products to nix shine, I gave the mattifying product a try and haven’t let go of it since. I love the packaging for its simplicity – tubes are the way to go with products like these. I applied after my skincare with a beauty blender, paying close attention to my t-zone and chin. Within seconds I could literally feel the difference on my skin – its appearance was much smoother and makeup clung to it that much better. I set with their Mist & Fix, and my makeup has been staying in place the best it ever has.
You can find the range for $43.00 a tube at Sephora or directly from MAKE UP FOR EVER. I really think this is the best primer I’ve tried, and worth the price tag.
I’ve been working with my trainer now for almost two months, and I’ve learned a huge, massive, enormously valuable lesson. The scale is so deceiving and can lie right to your face.
I know, I know…I’m hardly the first person to say this or realize it, but as someone who’s struggled with weight loss for years, actually believing the idea that the scale isn’t the ultimate guide to your progress is a huge feat.
I’m all for splurging on makeup, but sometimes it just isn’t in the budget. Finding products that are both inexpensive and able to perform can be a challenge, but certain brands deliver and make growing a makeup collection guilt-free.
I tried Wet n Wild’s Megalast Lip Color recently after I had received them before Valentine’s Day – I’ll admit, I wasn’t sure what to expect since I’m pretty picky about lipstick, but this was love at first swipe.
