It’s obvious by now that eyebrows have gone through a bit of a renaissance. It’s hard to scroll through Instagram without catching a selfie that includes a hashtag like #eyebrowsonfleek or #browgame. The surge in popularity of the “Instagram Eyebrow” is causing much debate in online beauty communities, models like Nadia Aboulhosn and Cara Delevingne are known for theirs, and product selection goes well beyond your standard pencil these days. Gone are the days of thin lines framing your eyes – it’s all about the bold, “on point” brow in 2015.
Personally, I try to strike a balance when it comes to grooming and shaping my eyebrows. In late 2013 I vowed to let mine grow in for a while…I had two completely different brow shapes and got a little tweezer-happy over the years, and I knew I needed to let the most natural shape come through. Eventually I landed on a look I’m happy with – lots of natural hair, an arch that looked and felt appropriate and a thickness that didn’t totally overpower my face but definitely helped frame my look.
For a long time I was using MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Brow to fill in my brows after trying many pencils, powders and waxes. I still very much stand by that product and have a lot of love for it – it’s perfect if you’re natural hairs are light or sparse and you need some help defining your brows.
My curiosity for Anastasia Beverly Hills began to grow in the middle of last year though, and when DIPBROW was released I was set on giving it a try. I ordered it during Sephora’s 20% off sale over the holidays and have since been using it daily – I’m totally obsessed.
What I’m loving most about DIPBROW is how natural it looks. I can’t stress enough how little product you need to make a difference in definition – in fact, I insist you just go little by little with this because less truly is more. I use it with my Sephora Collection Classic Brow Filler Brush (which is hands down the best I own) and it mimics natural hairs better than any product I’ve ever used. It builds easily if you’re going for a really bold look, but if you don’t want it to be super obvious you’re filling in, go light.
The texture of the product is also great because it not only fills in colour-wise, but it doubles as a wax – you don’t need to top off with brow gel if you don’t want to. When they say it’s all-in-one, they mean it. It’s also long-lasting, waterproof and smudge-proof.
You can find DIPBROW at Sephora for just $23.00 – when you consider how little you’ll be using every day, this really is a fantastic deal. I highly recommend and hope you’ll check it out!
