Benefit Cosmetics is a beloved brand for so many reasons. They always seem to knock it out of the park with their products, and the brand itself is made for the girly girls of the world (hi!) who shamelessly flaunt their love of everything pink, floral and fabulous.
Their Brow Bars in Sephora started appearing in recent years, leaving us beauty junkies wanting more IRL Benefit goodness – Toronto friends, they have delivered!
Benefit has opened the doors to its first Canadian boutique in Uptown Toronto (all you Yonge & Eglinton folks – rejoice!) and last week I got a chance to scope it out. It’s everything we could have imagined and more, like stepping into a pink oasis where everyone can have perfect skin, brows and lashes with just a bit of magic from their team of expert estheticians.
- Spray tans by Vita Liberata
- Body waxing (bikini lines, brazilians, legs, underarms and more)
- Facial waxing (brows, sideburns, lips, etc.)
- False lash application
- Threading (eyebrows, lip, chin, full face)
- Makeup Application & Lessons
- And more!
Prices range from $6 for a brow trim all the way up to $90 for a makeup lesson, so everything falls within that range and is reasonably priced in my opinion. My favourite part of the boutique though is their Beauty Bashes – you can literally have a party at the boutique with your closest girlfriends and get pampered while drinking bubbly and eating snacks after-hours with the doors shut! The bashes include make-uppers, brow shaping, lash or brow tint and one-on-one pampering starting at $50 a person. Birthday party for grown-ups idea? I think so.
For all of you not in Toronto, I still have great news – Benefit is planning to open more stores across Canada so we can all get a chance to have a “make-upper” and be Benebabes.
Who wouldn’t want to get waxed in a room like this?!
At the media event, we were treated to a brow contouring lesson from Benefit’s International Spokesperson on Global Services, Jared Bailey. A real-life Ken doll (he’s flawless), Jared walked us through what one might experience in a brow shaping session, complete with tips and tricks to fill your brows perfectly to contour (the it-word of the moment) and manipulate the shape of your face. If you’re having trouble finding the best way to shape and fill your brows, I highly recommend paying a visit to the boutique and getting a lesson from the brow experts themselves!
The Benefit Boutique is a welcome addition to the Toronto spa and beauty bar scene, and is especially at home in Uptown Toronto (believe it or not). I quite like the fact it’s away from the downtown core, as the whole neighbourhood it’s in has a much slower pace, great shopping and restaurants so you really feel like you’re taking a break from busy city life and stepping into a relaxing place to get pampered. You can also shop the entire line of Benefit products so if your local Benefit supplier has limited selection, you can rely on the boutique to have all of their amazing products from skincare to mascara, eyeliner to blush. They’ll also have new launches here earlier than regular stores like Sephora and Shoppers Drug Mart, so you can come here a week early when the new They’re Real! collection launches and scoop up some product.
