Here it is! My first Fit Friday update.
As with most people’s resolutions on the first week of the year, things have been pretty decent. I’ve eaten well, gotten in my workouts and have been feeling mostly better than I was before the new year.
Right now I’m focusing on eating clean – avoiding refined sugar, sticking to 5-6 smaller meals a day that have a balance of protein, complex carbs and healthy fats and are easy on the portions. It makes brenner (breakfast-for-dinner) a go-to for me partly because I’m too tired to cook a crazy meal when I get home from work and partly because Brad and I just really love breakfast food. The photo above was a highlight of my meals this week – a spinach and veggie egg scramble thing (my food will hopefully become more exciting). I’m also tracking my food and making notes in the 2015 Blogilates Fit Planner which I plan to review in a few weeks.
The downside to this week? I got hit majorly with some kind of sickness. I’m still recovering, in fact – I was off work on Wednesday trying to recover and headed home early yesterday to get some more rest, but I haven’t let it get in the way of my efforts. Just a small hiccup to start, I guess…hoping I’m in much better health as soon as possible!
I also am wrapping up the last few weeks of training sessions at LA Fitness and gearing up to start with my new trainer. She’ll be sending me a meal plan shortly to get started and we’ll start training together in early February. I’m both nervous and excited to get started with her but I can’t wait to have someone to seriously kick my ass into gear and motivate me to be better.
