For weeks now I’ve been seeing people all over the internet raving about Kat Von D’s Shade and Light contouring palette, and I was totally interested because it was a powder palette with a decent looking range of colours even for my fair skin. When I got my Sephora VIB sale code, I caved and bought both the face contouring palette and eye palette.
Today I’m focusing on the face palette and sharing my personal rave review. It’s no wonder it’s been such a huge hit, because this palette is the bomb. As mentioned, the range of shades in the palette are great – even for me, a girl as pale as they come, can get a little matte highlighting effect to contrast the sculpting from the darker shades. And speaking of those, I love that you can go for a subtle contour or something really dramatic as there’s three darker shades to choose from.
The palette comes with a handy guide to different sculpting techniques, which is great if you’re not sure where to start. When it comes to application, the powder goes on so smoothly and is so easy to build and blend. It really gives a natural, matte finish making contouring a breeze. I usually try to give my cheeks some definition as my cheekbones are practically non-existent 🙂
