I came across L’Oreal Paris’ Lineur Intense Brush Tip liquid eyeliner on sale at Shoppers Drug Mart a little while back for $5.99 and decided to pick it up to see how it stacked up against my usual favourite, Urban Decay’s 24/7 Liquid Liner. I love finding drugstore dupes and couldn’t pass it up on sale.
I got it home, opened it up and inspected the brush first. I was definitely expecting a more tapered brush that came to a thinner point, but you can see from the photo below it’s pretty thick for a a liquid eyeliner. The eyeliner itself, however, is super opaque and definitely offers a jet-black finish that doesn’t fade over the course of a day. The packaging also offers a lot of product for what you pay for, but the brush itself is very long and makes it a bit more difficult to get a precise, clean line.
Because of the thickness of the brush, it’s difficult to get a very fine line and I found I could really only do a thick line across my lid into my usual winged liner. With that said it was pretty easy to control once I got into drawing the wing and overall I was happy with the formula of the product.
Overall, I really loved the formula and the boldness of the liner itself, but the brush is a challenge to get used to as it doesn’t come to thin point and is hard to control precision-wise. It’s a good buy at around $10 (and even better if you can grab it on sale) if you’re looking for a brush-style liquid eyeliner, but if you can splurge on something a little more high-end I’d say go with that instead.
