I told you a little while back about the launch of MAKE UP FOR EVER’S new line of Artist Shadows, their latest product release honouring the brand’s 30th anniversary. I had the chance to review the eye shadows in ME-828 (a deep eggplant shade in the metal finish) and M-810 (a pale pink/purplish shade in the matte finish).

For me, eye shadow is a once-in-a-while product so when I do wear it, I want it to deliver in terms of finish, pigmentation and staying-power. Artist Shadow is formulated to pack a lot of pigment punch that blends easily, and I’m happy to report that’s definitely the case when you’re using it. It’s easy to create a specific look with multiple shades that seamlessly transition from colour to colour.
I decided to do just a simple smokey-style eye I might wear out on a date night or to go dancing with my shadows – I also used my Artist Liner pencil, and added some falsies to complete the whole look. The shadows I received were very complementary both with each other and my blue eye colour, so the finished result really made my eyes pop.
If you’re looking for high-performance eye shadow with tons of options for shades and finishes, look no further than these. Find them at Sephora and MAKE UP FOR EVER boutiques now, retailing for $25.00 for a single shade, $39.00 for a duo and $50.00 for a trio.
