The countdown to Valentine’s Day continues and if you’re looking for gift ideas, this might be just what you need.
Fifty Shades of Grey caused quite a stir when the series first launched – women everywhere were huddling around their copies reading pages upon pages of raunchy romance and I’m sure many couples got a boost they might have needed to reignite the spark in their relationships. After much anticipation, the movie will come to us this Friday, and with it has come a variety of brand partnerships including makeup.
MAKE UP FOR EVER is the official makeup partner and has bestowed an entire limited edition collection upon us to enjoy. I got my hands on the Tease Me Lip Set in Passionate/Berry ($38.00, Sephora and Sephora.com) and had the chance to play around with it – as with most MUFE products, I wasn’t disappointed.
The set comes with an Aqua Lip liner in 10C, Aqua Rouge in 50 (a new shade) and a Lab Shine Lip Gloss in D4. Already an obsessed fan of Aqua Rouge, the new colour had me all kind of excited – it’s a gorgeous light pinkish berry that feels perfect for any occasion.
The lip liner is a deeper, more purple berry shade and the gloss offers a light tint of colour and doesn’t feel too sticky. It’s perfect if you’re looking for something a little bolder than a typical gloss, but not over the top – kind of perfect if you’re going for a more sultry look for an occasion like oh, I don’t know…Valentine’s Day?
For me though, the value is in the liner and Aqua Rouge (Aqua Rouge typically retails for $29.00 alone so if you’re a fan of the formula like me, you’re basically obligated to buy). Because I wanted to try something a little deeper and sexier, I opted to layer the products and see the result – naturally, I loved it. I thought it was perfect for an evening date night look.
If you’re still scratching your head wondering what to get a special woman in your life, I’d definitely recommend this. It’s totally affordable, high-quality products and the colours are gorgeous. It’s perfect for a girlfriend or even a sister or Mom if you know they’re fans of the books – a G-rated alternative to some of the other ideas that might come to mind using this particular work of fiction as inspiration.
