I know we’re only midway through summer, but I must be honest with you. I am a fall baby, and fall is by far my favourite season as the weather is perfect, the colours are gorgeous, I love all things pumpkin and it leads right in to the greatest of all holidays, Christmas (duh).
Mary Kay recently shared a load of great new products launching for fall, and I’m so excited to preview them on the blog today (since it means Fall is on its way). From men’s cologne to hand cream, lipstick to eyeshadow, the brand is offering up some great products that will help you tackle dressing for holiday parties and even protecting your skin from the chilly, dry weather. Everything launches August 16th, so get your MK rep on the phone or jump online in a few weeks to scoop up the goodies!
Limited Edition Midnight Jewels Collection
This collection is made up of eyeshadows, lipsticks, nail polishes and a lip gloss that all scream “holiday party.” Inspired by the richness of gemstones, the shades are all deep, vibrant colours that are perfect for fall and winter.
The semi-matte lipsticks ($18 CAD) come in two shades: Pink Moonstone and Ruby Night. I love Pink Moonstone for day-to-day wear, and Ruby Night makes a great deep brownish-red for evening parties. They’re smooth, buttery product (not drying at all) and go on very opaque.
For girls who only want a touch of colour on their lips, the Lip Shimmer in Pearl Rose ($18 CAD) is perfect – a simple gloss that adds sparkle to any outfit, day or night (although I find it to be better suited for evenings).
Lip Shimmer – Pearl Rose
Now, for the eyes. The Midnight Jewels collections offers two really lovely palettes ($26 CAD each) – Emerald Noir (personal fave) and Sapphire Noir. With vibrant shades in both shimmery and matte finishes, you can create day and evening looks that promise to be crease and fade resistant. I haven’t put them to the test over the course of a day, but I can’t wait to try them out come the fall.

Last but not least, Mary Kay has your tips covered with three limited edition nail laquer shades ($10 CAD each): Sapphire Noir, Pearl Rose, and Night Diamond. The polish glides on easily and provides a satin finish, and each shade has plenty of sparkle.

Limited Edition Little Gifts Hand Cream & Lip Balm Sets
As a former Bath & Body Works employee, I’ll be the first to tell you things like hand creams and lip balms make perfect gifts for coworkers, teachers, girlfriends, in-laws…the list goes on. Better yet, vanilla is a safe bet when you’re shopping for fragrances (as long as it isn’t too strong) – a tip I always shared during my days on the floor at B&BW. Mary Kay has the Little Gifts Hand Cream ($13 CAD) and Little Gifts Lip Balms set ($20 for set of 3) ready to go for a quick & easy gift when you’re in a pinch.
The creams come in two scents, Vanilla Mint and Vanilla Berry, and have the same base formula as their Stain Hands cream. The balms come in three scents, Vanilla Mint, Vanilla Berry and Vanilla and have the Satin Lips formula. The great thing about these are they aren’t too strongly scented, but offer a hint of a festive fragrance along with awesome moisture for dry hands and lips.
Limited Edition MK High Intensity Sport
You didn’t think they’d forget about your man, would you? Whether it’s for the brother, father or partner in your life, Mary Kay has created a sporty fragrance in a cologne ($49 CAD) and hair/body wash ($20) that features gin berry and icy bergamot top notes as well as wild birch bark and amber. I personally love bergamot for men’s scents and the trace of amber is really nice – my boyfriend gave both the cologne and wash a try and I can happily report it’s a great men’s scent.
I’ve personally found things like nice body wash, cologne and shaving cream all make great stocking stuffers and gifts because men rarely buy these things for themselves, and if it’s my boyfriend, I like having a say in how he smells :).
And there you have it – all of Mary Kay’s wonderful products on the way for fall! It can’t hurt to start thinking of Christmas shopping, even though I know it’s painful to think about. The sooner you start, the more you can avoid the malls in December and manage your budget so you don’t go broke! Anything here pique your interest for yourself or gifts?
