You might be asking yourself, “What is a twentysomething doing talking about a product with the word TimeWise in the title?” – I’m here to tell you I agree, I’m not exactly the target demo with this one.
That said, I’ve recently started to really get educated on skincare and I wanted to share the new TimeWise Microdermabrasion Plus Set both because it’s part of Mary Kay’s new fall line, and for those of us who are looking for something to help with aging skin. As I’m learning more about makeup, I’m learning more about the importance of healthy skin and why I should be taking it seriously…like, really seriously. I’ve already made some changes that are paying off huge dividends for me. My makeup is going on smoother, lasting longer and overall looking better. Preventative skincare is also important, so I’m keeping this set close by to study a bit closer.
The set includes two products: TimeWise® Microdermabrason Refine (an exfoliant), and TimeWise® Pore Minimizer (a skin-prep product you would apply post-moisturizer, pre-makeup). The exfoliant is made to remove buildup on the skin and clear pores, while the pore minimizer…well, minimizes pores and ultimately refines the skin leaving it looking and feeling smoother and less prone to build up.
According to a consumer study from Mary Kay:
- 77% said their skin looked instantly younger.
- 87% said the set dramatically improved skin’s appearance.
- 82% said the set significantly shrunk the look of pores.
- 79% said the set visibly improvd the look of fine lines.
I did try both products and found the Microdermabrason Refine was a gentle and less abrasive product, doing the job without feeling like it might have been tearing my skin. You also need very little product so although the tube isn’t massive, it will last a long time. Since I don’t quite have large pores, it was hard to judge how effective the Pore Minimizer was but I will say it wore well under my makeup and didn’t seem to interfere with my usual routine.
The complete set retails for $60.00, or you can buy each individually ($35.00 each). If you want to give the set a try, talk to your Mary Kay rep or check it out online.
