I love Toronto during the holidays – there is so much to see and do, and you certainly cannot miss the One of a Kind Christmas Show & Sale.
Having a mother who’s an artisan herself (shameless plug: check out her Etsy shop here), over the course of my entire life she’s taken me to shows much like OOAK in small towns and communities, so it’s nice to know twice a year in Toronto we have the chance to experience something that feels somewhat small-townish. Yes, it’s in the Direct Energy Centre and I had to take a streetcar, two subways and a bus to get home from it, but wandering through aisles of deeply passionate and humble people who pour their hearts and souls into what they create is a nice change from the big box stores and shopping malls.
I visited the show on Tuesday mostly to browse, but also to pick up a few last gifts – I was able to find what I needed and had a lot of fun playing with my new camera. The Christmas show is definitely bigger and better than the Spring show (though I love it just the same) and if you haven’t been, there’s still time! The show ends this coming Sunday, December 7. Even if you’re not interested in spending a lot, seeing how creative some people are is seriously inspiring – and if you’re like me, you’ll particularly enjoy all the samples in the food section of the show 😉
Check out some of my photos below and let me know if you’ve been or plan to go! Would love to see what you got, if anything.
