Guys, winter is wreaking havoc on my lips. This may be my worst winter ever! They’re crazy dry, cracking and peeling and overall a hot mess. Not really my scene, considering I’m usually all about long-wearing, bold shades.
Many of my go-to liquid lipsticks have been collecting dust over the last few weeks as I try to let my lips heal, so when Arbonne’s Smoothed Over Lipstick came across my desk it was a welcome alternative. A hydrating formula with lots of fancy ingredients like edelweiss plant, watermelon fruit, lentil and apple extracts, this bullet of product is all about quenching your dry lips and giving you some gorgeous pigment in the process.
Shifting gears from my usual shades of red, I wanted to give Willow a try, a soft pinkish nude tone that is great for everyday wear or pairing with a bold eye. Upon first glance, the shade was a dream. Very natural and totally on-trend.
Performance-wise, the lipstick goes on SO BUTTERY SMOOTH. It just glides across the lips and also manages to deliver on colour, so it’s not one of those hydrating-but-super-sheer lip shades. It also claims to have lip-plumping effects, though I can’t really speak to that – I will say the fact that it’s such a hydrating formula means it feels like you’re rocking very full, sumptuous lips. A total win in my books.
While I know shopping through a consultant (as Arbonne’s company is structured) isn’t for everyone, the lipstick sells for $34.00 CAD and you can arrange your purchase online. It really is a quality product from what I can tell, and if you’re interested in exploring the line further, it can’t hurt to be in touch with someone who sells. All shopping tips aside, it’s a kick-ass lipstick for winter wear if your lips are hurting like mine.
