I must say, after having the chance to really explore Revlon’s Colorstay line of products I’m thoroughly impressed by the brand’s quality of makeup and its price point, given it’s so great.
The new Colorstay Moisture Stains are no exception – offering vibrant glossy colour in 12 shades, the product allows you to wear a bright lip while still getting a bit of moisture as it’s infused with Vitamin E and Aloe.
The applicator is a bent flat doe foot applicator that comes to a point – it’s almost exactly the same as any YSL gloss product. I personally love it as it allows for exact precision and maximum coverage.
I was able to try five shades – Barcelona Nights, LA Exclusive, Miami Fever, New York Scene and Shanghai Sizzle (I’m sure you’ve caught on to the theme by now) that range from orange-y corals to deep burgundys – there’s a shade for everyone across the spectrum.
From the swatches below, you can see just how intense the colour is and how it doesn’t have to be an overly glossy product – but, if that’s your thing, this stuff builds like a dream and you can look like Olivia Wilde in no time.
New York Scene
LA Exclusive (surprisingly, my fave of the bunch)
Barcelona Nights (here, I blotted to see how it wore just as a stain)
As you can see, the colour wears beautifully and is a great way to add some colour without going too intense like you might with a lipstick. At $12.95 CAD, they’re a great alternative to high-end glosses and stains and are sure to add some moisture and colour to your everyday looks.
