Recently, I was introduced to a new Canadian beauty brand, SST Cosmetics based in Saskatoon. The SST stands for the founder Sharon Sharpe-Titus, makeup artist and beauty business owner whose focus is to create high-quality products without harsh chemicals. I jumped at the chance to try the products since it’s always great to discover new Canadian brands.
I was gifted with a Hydrating Lipstick and Skin Perfecting Balm, both of which promise to be talc, paraben and silicone-free. The lipstick is a gorgeous warm pink called Drama Queen with a faint vanilla scent (not unlike the one found in MAC lipsticks) and applies smoothly. It also wears really comfortably, living up to the hydration aspect of its name, and the colour is complementary for many skin tones.
I especially liked the Skin Perfecting Balm though – I love that it has Tea Tree as a main ingredient which is perfect for combating acne and breakouts, as well as oily skin. It also has a healthy dose of Vitamin C & A and helps to smooth and blur fine lines, making it a great base for makeup.
Both products can be found online or in select salons (primarily in western Canada), with the lipstick priced at $23.95 and the balm at $47.94.
