The Tangle Teezer is a cult-status tool for good reason. The ergonomic, handle-free brush makes detangling hair a breeze without the need for product, and it’s a $20 investment that’s totally worth it. It makes regular appearances in my hair routine to manage my wavy, tangled hair (see below, where my original is in very-used shape).
I’m so excited to share the line has grown again, and the brand now has something for everyone to make styling so easy and convenient, no matter your hair woes. Thick & curly? On it. Styling everyday and using tons of product? There’s a brush to fix that. Constantly on the go? There’s a compact version. A low maintenance gal who simply need to brush through your hair? The standard go-to has and always will be there.
The Original Tangle Teezer and the Tangle Teezer Thick & Curly
There’s a reason 19 of these are sold every minute – the revolutionary teeth on the original makes combing through most hair completely easy. At the Canadian launch event of the newest brush (more on that later), founder Shaun Pulfrey highlighted the fact that one of the biggest complaints about the brush came from women with very thick and curly or afro-textured hair, saying that the brush still didn’t do the trick. The Thick & Curly brush was born, which is made up of longer and what feels like sturdier teeth to really get in to the hair and do its detangling magic. The weekend after I was given the brush, I used it on set at a shoot with a model whose hair was afro-textured to straighten it and it delivered.

The All-New Blow-Styling Tool
At the launch, Shaun Pulfrey was introducing the all-new Blow Styling Tool, an innovative brush that allows for free-flow tension and takse your hair from wet to dry quickly with a salon-like finish. You can see how the teeth on the brush are lined up and designed, and that’s all meant to contribute to creating the tension necessary for great results without all the tugging and pulling your stylist might do during a salon blowout.
He styled the model’s clean, product-free hair and the finish was amazing. Using it at home, I also experienced a really great result, however given my haircut (short, fine hair and an undercut) the brush itself was a little awkward to use. On standard, long hair though, this brush is all about making styling easy and convenient and would be very easy to use.
The Compact Styler
The cutest tool in the bunch, the Compact Styler packs everything you love about your original Tangle Teezer but comes in a small, handbag-friendly size with a base that protects it from dust and dirt. The one I received even came in an adorable Shaun the Sheep print! The Compact Styler is perfect for travel or on-the-go touch ups and is just as effective as the original, it obviously just doesn’t cover as much ground in one pass given its smaller size.
