Tresemme has officially launched a reverse wash system that promises lots of volume with a new approach…conditioner before shampoo.
I am a person who traditionally washes her hair every day. My fine, flat locks get oily fast, so daily cleansing is key to keeping it fresh. When I recently dyed my hair purple, though, that changed – I had to get used to going as long as possible without washing and really commit to dry shampoo. The difference was not only visible in colour maintenance, but in the volume of my hair too. All of a sudden my two or three day old hair was holding style better and at its fullest.
THE BEAUTY-FULL TRESEMME REVERSE WASH SYSTEM
Then, the Beauty-Full Volume system came in the mail and I had a new lens to test this through – I was interested to see how it fared with my hair recently (and literally) reaching new heights. The line has five products total, three of which I received: the Pre-Wash Conditioner, the Shampoo and the Hair Maximizer cream. I waited to try these when I was touching up my purple and needed to wash the colour out anyway, so in the photos the colour might look a bit off.
The Pre-Wash Conditioner is formulated to do everything your favourite conditioner does, but before washing versus afterwards. The idea is it’s preparing your hair for optimal bounciness and binds to the cuticle to protect your hair during washing. It’s a very lightweight conditioner requiring only a few pumps, and just needs to sit for about a minute to work its magic. The hardest thing about it is remembering to do this before washing!
Following the pre-wash, you can lather up with the shampoo that’s formulated to control static and create volume. Use as you would your typical shampoo.
Finally, the maximizer product is perfect for additional smoothness while maintaining volume. Smooth a small amount (about a dime to nickel size) on damp hair focusing on the ends, and blow out and style.
My final result was pretty decent. I definitely prefer the fresh washed feeling I get after a full washing routine compared to styling day-old hair, and this certainly delivers that and volume immediately post-styling. That said, because my hair is so fine it doesn’t hold style as well when it’s freshly washed, so the volume fell a bit throughout the day – a totally typical reaction to most hair products for me, though.
You can find this new line at your local drugstore! Have you tried it yet? Do you buy the idea of pre-washing?
